Four varsity letters, spread across the front. V-A-L-E is appliquéd straight onto the thigh in oversized chenille, each letter cut from a different animal-print fabric and edged in gold, with the two centre letters split by the fly.

• Hang dry
• Do not tumble dry — heat lifts the appliqué corners
• Do not iron over the letters
• Re-stitch a lifting edge before it spreads
• Wash the indigo and the black separately
• Do not dry clean
